Originally from northern Michigan, Dr. Newman moved to Roanoke in 2013 with her husband Jeff. They enjoy spending their weekends running, biking, hiking and exploring all that the valley has to offer with their daughter Riley and their dog Eva.
Dr. Newman received her Bachelor of Science in Music from the University of Michigan and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Following a year in general practice residency at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville, she worked for a private practice group in the Roanoke Valley to help build a practice from scratch. She joined Sandra Andrew, DDS in January 2016, transitioning the practice as Dr. Andrew retired. Dr. Newman continues to expand her education through extensive coursework including the continuing education curriculum through the prestigious Pankey Institute.
In additional to continuing education, Dr. Newman is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Piedmont Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She has completed leadership development programs through Leadership Roanoke Valley and the Virginia Dental Association. Over the past several years, Dr. Newman has volunteered with the Mission of Mercy dental program and continues to volunteer in the Fralin Dental Clinic at the Rescue Mission as well as the Bradley Free Clinic.
